Coined as Oakland’s “hipster” neighborhood for its many artsy young inhabitants, Temescal has also emerged as an eating destination, home to innovative offerings by creative food producers. The neighborhood’s food makers come from varied backgrounds: pop-up restaurants, fine dining establishments, and even farmers’ market stands. The talent behind the tastes have helped this tour earn the title of "The Best Oakland Food Tour You'll Ever Take."
One of the most diverse destinations in the country, the food in this neighborhood is a true reflection of the city of Oakland. Begin the tour with fresh Baja-style tacos from the Cholita Linda stand at the weekly farmers’ market, followed by the award-winning Kouign-Amann pastry from Starter Bakery.
Pav sliders and Indian street food from past Top Chef contestant Preeti Mistry at Juhu Beach Club are always a crowd-pleaser. Round out your excursion with authentic injera and wot from Abesha Ethiopian, Korean rice bowls from Bowl’d BBQ, Sacred Wheel’s grilled mac ‘n’ cheese and PBR tomato soup, and other treats from the trendy Temescal Alleys.
All Edible Excursions stops are subject to change depending upon availability. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated with advance notice.
