We are delighted to serve as a media partner for the 10th Anniversary Taste of Temescal. The annual community fundraiser, held Tuesday, March 19, from 6 to 8:30 pm., is a delicious companion to our ongoing Oakland Temescal Tastes Food Tour.

Enjoy tasty bites from neighborhood favorites such as Burma Superstar, Doña Tomás, and Hawking Bird.  And check out flavor-filled offerings from newcomers like Co Nam, FOB Kitchen, and Northlight Cafe & Bar.

Participating Edible Excursions partners include Bowl’d BBQ, Curbside Creamery, The CRO Cafe and Julie’s. Find a diverse range of cuisines featured including dishes with Burmese, Californian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Mexican, and Southern roots. We’re talking smoked meatballs, vegetarian soft tofu soup, chicken fat rice, and more.

Hawking Bird, whose signature menu items are featured here, is participating in Taste of Temescal.

Think of Taste of Temescal as a culinary crawl of almost 30 neighborhood restaurants, who serve signature tastes  to around 500 food fans. It’s a benefit too: Participating local schools and non profits—Claremont Middle SchoolEmerson MiddleOakland Technical High School, and La Clínica de La Raza.—receive all the proceeds from the evening. Each year, the event raises around $10,000 for music instruction, a children's dental clinic, school supplies and many other worthwhile programs.

Find Taste of Temescal tickets online here. Tickets can be purchased from the benefiting non-profits and schools, at La Clínica de La Raza's new Children's Dental Clinic, and Ruby's Garden.

For more details, including a complete list of participating restaurants and their menu items for the night, take a look on the website of event host Temescal Business Improvement District.

We’re looking forward to seeing you there. Guide Joshua Clever, a Temescal resident, will rep Edible Excursions on the night. Come say hi at the information booth. It’s going to be a fun evening.
