FAQ
I have dietary restrictions. Can I still take a tour?
Definitely! We always do our best to meet any dietary needs. Please let us when you book the tour so that we and our restaurant partners can plan accordingly.
Where do I go to meet my tour guide?
All ticketed guests receive an email at least two days before the tour with information on your guide's name, a photo, phone number, and directions to the meeting point that include public parking and public transit options. Check your email. If you still have questions, contact us at (415) 806.5970.
How much food will there be?
Most of our guests say our tours include enough "tastes" - six to nine of varying sizes, depending on the tour - for a hearty meal. We don't suggest big dinner plans after a tour. (The one exception is our SF Downtown Craft Cocktails tour, which is mostly drinks).
Do I need to bring anything?
Yourself, and your appetite! At this time, please bring a face mask as they must be worn inside when not actively eating or drinking. Comfortable walking shoes are always a good idea, as is a bottle of water. You may also want to bring a bag for any additional goodies you pick up along the way.
Should I tip my guide?
If your guide was informative and entertaining and showed you good service, tips are always appreciated. The amount is up to you, but many guests tip as they would a restaurant server: 15-20%.
Are tickets refundable or transferable?
All tickets are nonrefundable and cannot be exchanged or rescheduled. However, tickets can be transferred to another guest. If you are transferring the ticket, please let us know if there are dietary restrictions for this guest and we will attempt to accommodate.
How long do tours run?
Each tour length is different, but they vary from 2-3 hours. We run a prompt schedule, so please be sure to be on time! You won’t want to miss any of the delicious stops.
What if it rains?
Edible Excursions tours happen rain or shine! Be sure to bring an umbrella.
Do you offer private tours?
Yes, we love hosting private groups! Whether it’s a birthday party, bachelorette outing, or corporate team building, we are happy to create custom food tour experiences for any group.
Could my tour be cancelled?
We require a minimum registration of four guests per tour. If the minimum number of guests is not met, the tour will be cancelled four days in advance. In the unlikely event of a cancellation, we will give you either a full refund or booking on a different tour.
